This is the next book on my summer reading list and the one I plan to take to the OBX next month. It’s the true story of a married couple who drift across the Pacific for nearly four months in a life raft after a whale capsizes their sailboat. What could possibly go wrong?

2. BACKYARD/BEACH GAME - Mölkky

Mark and I spent this July 4th weekend with my Canadian cousin and her husband in their charming lakefront cottage just north of Ottawa. One of the many fun activities they shared with us was Mölkky, a Finnish throwing game that’s kind of like bowling (but way different). It’s a super fun, all-ages game that’s perfect for the beach or the backyard. We bought ours from Amazon.

3. SUMMER COCKTAIL - Hibiscus Rum Punch

Here's a rum punch with a twist by Southern Living. This bright, fruity, and refreshingly tart cocktail swaps the usual grenadine for hibiscus tea—which adds a floral note and a gorgeous ruby color. A splash of sparkling water gives it a fizzy pop and citrus slices make it as pretty as it is delicious.
