5 FAVORITE FINDS FROM HIGH POINT MARKET

Each spring the design team at Manlove and Company Interiors heads to North Carolina to discover the latest trends in home decor at High Point Market–the world’s largest home furnishings trade show.

So, last month we packed our Instagram worthy outfits and headed south to find inspiration for our current and upcoming projects. (And this time we had a special guest join us, the lovely Natalie Manlove!)

Read on to discover 5 of our favorite finds!

1.) BURL WOOD IS BACK

What goes around definitely comes back around and burl wood is enjoying a comeback. Once a lavish fixture of the Art Deco movement and then a groovy staple of the 70’s, burl wood has the unique ability to feel both timeless and contemporary at the same time. We love bringing nature into our clients’ homes, and burl wood is another way to bring in our beloved browns while adding lots of movement and style. FUN FACT: Its signature swirls and knots come from a natural mutation in the wood caused by injury or infection, creating an irregular, eye-catching pattern that’s revealed when the wood is cut.

2.) FOR THE LOVE OF STRIPES

Not that they ever went out of style, but stripes are certainly having their moment in 2025. Bold, preppy, moody or bohemian, the versatility of stripes is part of the charm. Check out the subtle striping on the @verellenfurniture sofa (3rd photo on right). I fell in love with that piece for a mountain lodge or a boho beach vacation home.

3.) FRINGE BENEFITS

Bullion fringe is making a comeback in a big way! From oversized fringe lighting, to stools, chairs and sofas, this trend is actually growing on me for a nice little embellishment. Depending on its application it can be super traditional (think historic home), bohemian or even a little naughty for a speak-easy lounge vibe.

4.) THE MAGIC OF NESTING TABLES

Why settle for one table when you can have two unique tables that fit seamlessly together? Sometimes they are the same, sometimes they are completely different. Nesting tables blend function and style. Perfect for entertaining, we like them for large floor spaces in front of a sectional. Tables in threes (or more!) are effective to stretch across a seating area so everyone has a place to put their drink.

5.) EMBRACE YOUR MOODY SIDE

Dark, moody rooms are here! If you have the space for a room that is best used at night, this is a fun vibe for a TV room, lower-level basement or a cocktail area. This look is about sensual textures (think velvet and leather), jeweled tones and layers of darker colors. These photos are from the Designers’ Lounge at High Point Market, which Universal Furniture transformed into a sexy, cool hangout space for its stylish guests.
